I started developing my art
career when I moved to Florida five years ago. I began taking
some classes and fell in love with Stone Carving. Since then I
have worked in various places in Florida ; I am currently
working at the Sculpture Studio in Clearwater. Synergy is
exciting there because of the creativity and techniques we learn
and share.
While developing my art in Florida, I have also travelled to
Colorado in the summer to participate in the sculpture symposium
: Marble/marble.
It is named as such because it is located in Marble, CO., and we
carve Yule marble which is an unique white marble of a very high
density and clarity.
It is the same marble that is used for the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington DC.
My work has been displayed at the Redstone Gallery in Redstone,
CO., the Art Center in St. Petersburg, FL., at various East Lake
Art Club venues and is currently at the Dunedin Fine Arts Center
in Dunedin, FL.
I have received awards as follows :
Tarpon Springs Art Association 2005 Juried Show---First Place,
Dunedin Fine Arts Center 2004 Juried Show--Honorable Mention
I spend my other valuable time involved in art organizations and
clubs. I am currently on the Board of Directors of the Dunedin
Fine Arts Center and am a Charter Member of the Sterling
Society, a group of people from DFAC interested in social,
educational and fund raising activities.
